Project 168: Iaorana from TAHITI!

Iaorana! is Hello! in Tahiti.

This is the first introduction that I had from a swapbot friend living in Tahiti. It was December 2009 that I had my very first encounter with mlysao. The first postcard she sent me is via private swap:

Where is TAHITI located in the world?
Look at the vast PACIFIC OCEAN -Near historical Tuamoto, and Marquesas Island. Yes! Marquesas the one featured in SURVIVOR. I used to watch the its episodes during my High School days.

On the back it says: "La Polynesie francaise compte 118 iles dispersees sur cinq millions de KM2" which translates to " French Polynesia consist of 118 islands scattered over a surface of 1922 million square miles."

Next, she introduced me to a CASCADE which is the French term of a waterfalls. In Filipino, we call it TALON which can also refer to "a jump". "Tumalon sa talon", could be translated to "to jump over a waterfall"

And here comes another cascade from Tahiti which arrived this week for a Favorites Tag Game at postcrossing.

Another postcard for the tag game shows a bay in Moorea. Mlysao helped me with some Tahitian phrases:
